Suzanne Paling is the principal and founder of Sales Management Services. She has over twenty years of experience in sales consulting, sales management, and sales for both field and inside sales organizations. Ms. Paling founded Sales Management Services in 1998 to provide practical advice to business executives, owners, and entrepreneurs seeking to increase their revenue and improve their sales organization’s performance.
Sales Management Services’ roster of clients includes companies in the software, construction, medical, telecommunications, manufacturing, delivery, pest control, and the recruiting industries.
Previously, at Thomson Corporation’s Warren, Gorham & Lamont and RIA Group business units, Suzanne managed high-performance teams selling information services to banking, real estate, and law professionals. Her accomplishments included reorganizing and turning around several underperforming sales groups.
Prior to Thomson, Suzanne was an Account Sales Representative with Dana Perfumes (Tabu, Canoe, Christian Aujard) where she handled major retail accounts including CVS, Sears, J.C. Penney, Bradlees, Steiger’s and Porteous, Mitchell and Braun.
Since 2003, Suzanne has published a monthly newsletter called Sales Management Tips, with articles on topics such as “Interviewing Salespeople” and “Managing Superstar Salespeople”. She has been interviewed on business radio stations such as WOTW’s “Minding Your Own Business” and was quoted in Sales & Marketing Management on the subject of sales contests.
Suzanne appears regularly as a panelist for the Women’s Enterprise Initiative (WEI), offering advice to small businesses such as a kitchen cabinetry distributor and a travel agency as well as serving as an instructor at the CEO Boot camp, a three day instructional seminar for presidents of emerging growth organizations. She makes frequent presentations to local area business groups on the subject of hiring and managing salespeople. She is a former Vice President of Membership and Board member of the Society of Professional Consultants.
